On February 11, the scientific community celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This event, supported by the UN, aims to highlight the essential contributions of women and girls in the scientific field, while emphasizing the importance of their access to equal opportunities in the world of research.

Institut Cochin, a model of inclusion and parity

In this context, the Institut Cochin reaffirms its commitment to inclusive, ethical, and equitable science, where every individual, regardless of gender, can flourish and fully contribute to the scientific advances of tomorrow. Scientific excellence is not limited to research results but also includes a strong social responsibility. This approach, which involves promoting gender equality and inclusion, is a fundamental pillar of the Institut Cochin's model.

Gender equality and inclusion: figures that speak for themselves

The Institut Cochin stands out for its commitment to gender equality and inclusion, values deeply rooted in its institutional culture.

  • 49% of leadership positions (team leaders, platform managers, directors) are held by women, a rate well above the average for academic research institutes.
  • 60% of the Institute's staff are women, demonstrating the institution's commitment to ensuring equitable gender representation at all levels.
  • The Institute employs over 600 staff members from 25 different nationalities, further strengthening its multicultural and inclusive character.

These results illustrate the tangible impact of the gender equality policies implemented at the Institut Cochin, which contribute to creating a balanced and diverse work environment.
