Value Creation and Technology Transfer Hub - Team
Missions of the Value Creation and Technology Transfer Hub at Institut Cochin
The Hub works closely with the Value Creation and Technology Transfer offices of the Institute's supervisory bodies (Inserm, CNRS, Université Paris Cité) and the SATT Erganeo. At the service of the research teams and core facilities, Its missions include:
- Raising awareness and informing Institute staff about value creation and technology transfer.
- Helping identify research projects with innovation potential.
- Supporting projects in the various aspects of value creation and technology transfer processes, such as protecting discoveries, applying for funding and setting up partnerships with companies.

Activity of the Value Creation and Technology Transfer Hub
The Hub assists researchers with their projects by liaising with the Value Creation and Technology Transfer offices of the Institute's supervisory bodies and with SATT Erganeo.
- Intellectual property studies and procedures are handled by these offices, the Hub helping researchers to monitor this aspect of their projects.
- It also plays a coordinating role between the project leader and the Value Creation and Technology Transfer offices, helping them in the pre-maturation and maturation phases of the projects and the associated funding applications, as well as with relations with companies and setting up partnership contracts.
The Hub also takes direct action by organizing events at the Institut Cochin:
- An annual call for projects, the Proof-of-Concept / POC Cochin, offers seed funding for Institut Cochin projects with strong potential for value creation and technology transfer.
- Meetings, such as the “Donny Strosberg Day” created in 2012, during which the Institute's innovative projects are presented to companies in the healthcare sector, thus fostering contacts and/or strengthening ties with industrial partners.
A Business Developer for the Core Facilities
As strategic partners of research teams, core facilities help to develop original technical solutions and innovate in their respective fields.
This is why, thanks to the support of the CNRS, the Institut Cochin recently opened, within the Value Creation and Technology Transfer Hub, a business developer position to promote its core facilities to companies.
The Institute's 9 Core facilities, with their instrumental equipment maintained at the highest level through regular investment, benefit from the competencies of an operational manager, a highly qualified dedicated team and the support of one or more scientific advisors to accompany and bring projects to fruition. https://institutcochin.fr/recherche/axes-scientifiques/plateformes-technologiques
They are thus in a position to offer their expertise and advice on project set-up, either providing services or being involved in Research & Development collaborations. They also offer customized training courses on their equipment or in their technological fields, as well as the provision of equipment.
