On 3 June 2026, Institut Cochin took part in the ‘Kiosques en fête’ event organised by the City of Paris, with a free, interactive workshop at the kiosk on Boulevard Auguste Blanqui (Paris 13):

« Voir et lire l’ADN » (See and read the DNA)

On the programme:

🍌 DNA extraction from banana cells

🧬 Discovering the genetic code and mutations

🕵️ Ja scientific test to detect a mutation in a DNA sequence

A fun and accessible opportunity for everyone to discover how researchers read and analyse genetic information, which lies at the heart of advances in healthcare and biomedical research.

This workshop was led by Cecilia Ramirez, Claire Desnos, Juliette Hamroune, Jeanne Navarre and Laetitia Waast.

Through this involvement, Institut Cochin is continuing its mission to disseminate scientific knowledge to the general public.
