Infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), remains a major public health challenge, particularly for vulnerable and isolated populations. Providing clear, relevant, and up-to-date information is essential to empowering individuals to protect themselves and others.

On January 20, 2026, as part of an educational program at the La Santé Prison, Cecilia Ramirez, a CNRS researcher at Institut Cochin, led an interactive workshop for inmates.  Through role-playing games about the HIV life cycle, theoretical input, discussions, and appropriate visual aids, this workshop aimed to raise awareness, educate, and encourage reflection on HIV, AIDS, and sexually transmitted infections.

This workshop is part of a comprehensive health education approach aimed at reducing inequalities in access to information and strengthening the autonomy of detainees in matters of health.
