This prize rewards women of all nationalities, who have made significant contributions to research in the field of inflammation and who have international recognition in this field.
This distinction is also intended to promote the visibility of women in science, this message being particularly important for future generations.
IAIS also awarded the "Life achievement Award" to Prof. Alberto MANTOVANI for his entire career in immunology.
Researches in Véronique WITKO-SARSAT team focus on the role of neutrophils in chronic inflammatory diseases, in particular on the mechanisms that regulate their survival and apoptosis. A better understanding of these mechanisms could open up innovative therapeutic avenues for anti-inflammatory treatments.
Dr Véronique WITKO-SARSAT is member of the GREMI which is the French Society of Inflammation affiliated to the IAIS.
