The Institut Cochin is organising, on Tuesday 13 October 2026,
a new Clinical and Biological Symposium devoted to a topic at the forefront of current medical discourse: "GLP-1 analogues: a therapeutic revolution with societal implications".
Originally developed for type 2 diabetes and subsequently for obesity, GLP-1 analogues are now experiencing a major surge in popularity, particularly due to their effects on weight loss.
Their efficacy opens up new therapeutic prospects, whilst raising numerous medical, scientific, economic and societal issues.
This meeting will bring together clinicians and researchers to share the latest insights into their mechanisms of action, clinical data and their potential in other conditions.
It will also provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges associated with these treatments, which are profoundly transforming clinical practice.
