Institut Cochin is opening a position for a scientist wishing to establish his/her independent team

Institut Cochin is a leading French Biological Research Center, affiliated with Inserm, CNRS and Université Paris Cité, and located on the campus of Cochin Hospital. Its 33 independent research teams focus on fundamental and translational research within the scientific axes: Cancer, Immunology, Metabolism & Endocrinology, Microbiology, Cellular Plasticity & Reproduction.

Candidate selection will be based on the outstanding quality of the scientific record and project, as well as the ability to interact with scientists of Institut Cochin and medical teams of Cochin Hospital.

The newly recruited group will benefit from extensive support by, and strong interactions with, state-of-the-art core facilities of Institut Cochin. These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research.
Laboratory space and a support package will be provided to the selected group leader. The candidates must meet the criteria to compete for national and international research funding. Those who do not have a permanent position in France will have to apply to the ERC and/or ATIP/Avenir programs and/or to French institutional research/teaching positions (CNRS, INSERM, Université Paris Cité).

Applications should be a single document that includes:

  • CV (2 pages max),
  • list of publications, patent applications, invited conferences, clinical and/or teaching experience, awards and grants,
  • description of the research project (4 pages max)

and be sent to direction.u1016 (at) inserm.fr.

Two letters of reference must be sent separately by the individual providing reference, to the same address.

Deadline for applications: 21/01/2025.

Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held in Paris in May.
