Role of Axin1 in intestinal homeostasis and tumorigenesis

Project

The results of the team have previously shown that the Wnt/b-catenin pathway plays a key role in the control of the homeostasis and tumorigenesis of the gastrointestinal tract. Among the different partners we have studied, CTNNB1 encoding b-catenin and the two tumor suppressor genes, APC and AXIN1, we recently identified a complex role for Axin1 in liver physiopathology. Our current project is to characterize the role of Axin1 in intestinal homeostasis and tumorigenesis using dedicated mouse models.
