Epigenetics, DNA Replication and Cancer

The main objective of our team is to obtain a better understanding of the mechanisms that regulate DNA replication and the maintenance of its integrity in mammalian cells. Genome replication is carried out by a macro-molecular complex called the "replisome" that assembles at thousands of replication origins, where replication is initiated. Our team is developing original genomic, molecular biology and cell biology approaches to gain a better understanding of the actors and regulators essential to the formation and function of this complex. We are also studying the effects that a disruption of the replication process may have in the emergence of certain pathologies, such as cancer or other human diseases.
